bicing publishes station status as a near real time JSON feed via CityBikes showing the number of bikes and docks available at each station. Over the course of the day as the system is used some stations may run out of bikes (meaning no trips can start) or may fill up (meaning none can end because no docks are available).
As opposed to current and previous day station depletion detail, this map shows each station's overall availability: the fraction of time checked during which neither bikes nor docks were unavailable. It can also serve as a quick indicator of redistribution effectiveness.
Also shown are availability clusters: Groups of two or more stations in the same availability category within 0.75 km of each other.
Point to marker for average station availability (percent of time neither empty (no bikes) nor full (no docks)).
